This service was created in 1999 after passing my national exam in Rehabilitation Counseling through the Commission of Rehabilitation Counseling. I began teaching in the field of Special Education after my training through the school of education at Arizona State University in 1979. After teaching for three years in Phoenix, I returned to school at the University of Oregon to pursue other interests and complete my Masters Degree in International Studies and Education. Since then, I have taught in urban and rural village settings in Oregon and Alaska. My experience includes teaching in all grades K-12, coaching football, cross-country running, and wrestling, serving as a special education department chairperson, transition coordinator, and career and work readiness instructor in the Anchorage School District. My recent retirement from the school district has allowed me time to offer my services and experience to individuals, districts, and state vocational agencies on an as needed basis.
